This evening it came to our attention that a message was sent out to the parents of the Fitchburg Public Schools telling them about a possible threat. A Fitchburg student reported seeing an anonymous threat on social media. The student alerted the Fitchburg School Administration and Fitchburg Resource Officers began a tracking investigation. The Fitchburg Police determined that there was NO THREAT to Fitchburg schools or any schools in the surrounding towns.
When the Lunenburg Administration was alerted to social media posts indicating that Lunenburg might be impacted we immediately contacted Lunenburg Police. They reached out to the Fitchburg Police for information. Lunenburg Police notified me this evening that they have confirmed that there is NO THREAT to Lunenburg schools or students.
I just spoke to Chief Marino on the phone and to ease anxiety Lunenburg Police will be stationed at the entrances to LMHS/TCP tomorrow morning.

BOSTON (AP) – Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker says he’s not planning to meet with Vice President Mike Pence when the fellow Republican travels to Boston to attend a Republican National Committee event.
Baker told reporters Monday his calendar was filled with other events.
Baker, who refused to vote for President Trump during the 2016 election, said he wasn’t trying to send a message.
Baker said he didn’t know about the Tuesday event ahead of time.
He said typically when important federal officials come through town, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats, he’ll try to say hello if he can.
Baker said his Tuesday schedule included an event in New Bedford, which he said conflicted with the Pence event.
Republican Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito said she wasn’t asked to attend and also has other commitments.
